The Security Passport program is a tool which allows employers to better manage their workforce by performing criminal background screenings. The program was developed by a task force composed of members from Hemlock Semiconductor, The Dow Chemical Company, and The Dow Corning Corporation.
Geographic Regions have slightly different data collection and results reporting requirements. Please make sure you select the information for your area. Background screens generally take 5 - 10 days to process, dependent upon the payment for non-members, commonality of a name, incorrectly submitted data, additional name searches and the locations to be searched. Most background screens will be done within the 5 day limit, however, GLSTC has no control over the other factors of the search so it is critical to begin your search at least 10 days prior to plant entry.
Military personnel will need to provide a copy of their DD214 paperwork in order for us to fully complete the background screen.
International searches generally take longer to complete and have significantly higher charges. Some countries have restricted the access to criminal records with new privacy laws. As a result, we cannot check criminal histories in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Ireland or Vietnam. Additionally, some countries will require additional documentation or authorization to complete the screens and others have limited search areas. We will do all we can to complete as thorough a search as possible and will notify your company of the results we have been able to obtain so you can work with security for site access badging to the plant.

GLSTC offers two options for background screens. We can complete the screens for you or you can certify that a screen completed by your company meets the Security Passport Standard.

Please note that GLSTC will complete the screens for the site, however, all training and receipt of the card which indicates the completion of the background screen will be issued from Mid-Atlantic Safety Council.
