Greg Younk
Vice President/General Manager

What business are you in?

“We are a mechanical contractor, providing design and installation of process piping, heating and air conditioning, and plumbing.  We also service mechanical systems.”

How has a good safety record positively impacted your bottom line?

“It has lowered our EMR rate, reduced administrative time, as well as requiring less time to perform accident investigations”

What future steps are you planning to maintain and improve your safety record?

“We want to continue to get the one-on-one buy-in from our employees; safety is an individual and a company responsibility. Ongoing safety training is a must; recently JEJ sent 40 people through the 10 hr MIOSHA training and provided 2 days of CPR and first aid training. We plan on adding additional site safety reps in the near future in addition to the 5 we have now”.

How long have you been a member of Great Lakes Safety Training Center?

“Since it was started, we were one of the founding companies”.

What advantages do you see to being a GLSTC member?

Great Lakes and COST keep us current on activities. GLSTC is a great training platform that offers many different types of training and they will tailor training to your needs. GLSTC is a convenient place for training because of its location in the tri-cities”.

Who do you attribute your safety successes to?

Our manager’s commitment to zero injuries!

“The JEJ mentoring program and our client’s Drive to Zero program has been very helpful, as well as the exchange of ideas that COST provides”.
